I married a life-long resident and have lived in Berne since 1978.  We raised two daughters who have remained in Berne raising children of their own – simply because we love Berne!

The timing of running for my third term as Assessor for the Town of Berne could not be more perfect. This was because of my recent appointment as Assessor for the Town of Westerlo while simultaneously retiring from my position as Attorneys Trial Assistant/Paralegal for the Albany County Attorney.

Berne Working Together simply means cooperation, fairness, kindness, and overall compassion for each other with the goal of what is most financially, morally, and ethically beneficial for Berne and its residents. Together we can get back to the cohesive, peaceful community it once was.

I am most proud of the thrift store at the Helderberg Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne. I saw a real need for the community, but never imagined it would be as successful as it has become. I presented the idea to the congregation and got their support and approval. I set up one small room which quickly expanded to nearly the entire basement of the church. It continues to grow and be successful. Because of the success of and love for the thrift store, I was asked to do the same in the South Berne Congregational Church and set up a shop there. It also proved to be popular and successful.
